How to Optimize Asset Tracking and Streamline Processes with the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit

Industrial companies are faced with the challenge of making their processes more efficient while simultaneously reducing costs. In addition to increasing competitive demands, the shortage of skilled workers and an aging workforce are intensifying the pressure on companies to make processes more efficient, automated and resource-efficient. A crucial role is played here by process optimization through intelligent location solutions. But which technology is best suited for a precise and scalable asset tracking solution?

This is exactly where the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit comes in—a product we developed in collaboration with our partner Flowcate: Using state-of-the-art mesh technology, it enables companies to test various applications easily, flexibly, and quickly. Thanks to its quick integration into existing systems and its simple and fast installation, the starter kit offers an ideal way to digitize processes, optimize material flows, and create transparency in production and logistics.

But what makes Cavea Mesh technology so special? In addition to precise asset tracking and scalable real-time data, it stands out for its quick and easy implementation. In the next section, we’ll show you just how straightforward it is to install the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit—so you can get started right away without any technical hurdles.

How easy is it to install the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit?

The Cavea Mesh Starter Kit enables companies to get started with the technology quickly and easily. Thanks to its user-friendly installation, companies can get the Starter Kit up and running in no time and begin testing their first applications.

Installation takes just a few steps:

  1. Position the gateway – The gateway connects the system to the cloud and handles the data transfer. It is the only device that requires a power connection. It is important that the LTE signal can leave the hall unobstructed to ensure a stable connection. As soon as the gateway has connected, the signal light turns green.
  2. Installing anchors – The anchors, which serve as reference points for localization, are attached to the hall walls, for example, at a height of about 3 meters. The recommended distance between anchors is 10 to 15 meters to ensure optimal coverage. The anchors can be mounted using screws, double-sided tape, industrial adhesive, cable ties or magnets (if the surface is metallic). The position of each anchor is then placed on the map of your working environment using the Network Tool with a simple drag and drop. No cabling or complex calibration is necessary.
  3. Attaching Tribrid® Tags – These small, battery-powered tags are attached directly to the equipment being tracked. Depending on the surface, they can be glued on, secured with cable ties or magnets, or screwed in place.

Once all components are in place, the system can be put into operation.
In just a few steps, the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit is ready to go and can be used right away. But the Starter Kit isn’t just impressive because of its easy installation—it also offers a range of benefits that set it apart from other solutions.

Why the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit Is the Ideal Way to Get Started with Asset Tracking in Your Company

The introduction of new location technologies can be fraught with uncertainty for businesses. Which solution best fits their specific needs? How complex is the integration process? And is the investment even worth it? This is exactly where the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit comes in. It offers a ready-to-use, flexible, and cost-effective way to test various applications—without significant technical effort and without a long-term commitment.

With the starter kit, companies can test Cavea Mesh technology in their own environment. Whether it’s for tracking materials, machines, or tools, the system can be quickly adapted and customized. This provides companies with valuable insights into which solution best meets their needs before they decide to implement it on a large scale.

But what makes our Starterkit special?

Wireless – Easy installation

Wireless mesh technology eliminates the need for complex cabling. Anchor and tags communicate wirelessly, which means that the system can also be used in existing infrastructures without the need for construction work. Particularly practical: the anchors have a battery life of up to 10 years, which reduces maintenance to a minimum.

Interoperable – a system that integrates seamlessly

With the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit, companies can rely on a solution that integrates seamlessly into existing IT and production systems. The software offers modern API interfaces, enabling easy integration with ERP and WMS systems. In addition, the Tribrid® tag already supports other technologies such as AoA, BLE, and RFID. These can be used provided the appropriate infrastructure is in place or is purchased later— without requiring any new or additional tags.

Scalable – grows with your requirements

A key advantage of the Cavea Mesh System is its high scalability. Companies can start with just a few tags and anchors and expand the system incrementally as needed. The technology tracks thousands of objects simultaneously, easily covering even large industrial facilities.

Open – Independence through industry standards

Thanks to Omlox compatibility, companies benefit from a future-proof, open solution that works independently of individual manufacturers. This means no vendor lock-in, but maximum flexibility when expanding and customizing the system.

Cost-effective – high utility at low investment cost

The Starterkit offers a cost-effective way to test asset tracking and process optimization – without large initial investments. Companies not only save through shorter search times and the automation of manual processes, but also benefit from the system’s rapid amortization. Inefficient processes are made visible and optimization potential can be exploited in a targeted manner. Many companies achieve a positive ROI within 12 months, even for larger rollouts, and reduce their operating costs by up to 70% compared to conventional tracking systems.

High precision – reliable location

With a location accuracy of 5 to 7 meters, the Cavea Mesh System enables seamless tracking and inventory management of assets, machinery, and materials—even in complex industrial environments.

With the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit, companies gain an industry-proven solution for testing various tracking applications in their own production or logistics environments. The combination of easy installation, flexible scalability, and high cost-effectiveness makes the system an ideal choice for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of RTLS without a significant investment risk.

Test a wide range of applications quickly and easily

The Cavea Mesh Starter Kit offers companies the opportunity to easily test a wide range of use cases to find the solution that works best for them.

With the Starterkit, you can test various use cases, such as:

  • Asset Tracking: Track load carriers, tools and materials with high precision and improve transparency in your production or warehousing.
  • Optimization of intralogistics: Automate material flow monitoring and minimize downtime with accurate tracking of deliveries and production resources.
  • Warehouse optimization: Integrate tracking capabilities into your warehouse management system and get accurate information about the location and status of inventory at all times.
  • Maintenance: Reduce maintenance times by tracking your assemblies and thus increase the availability of the vehicles or machines to be serviced.

With the Cavea Mesh Starter Kit, you can quickly test all of these scenarios and discover how the technology can be seamlessly integrated into your existing processes.
